starter help please...

starter help please...

1986 radian 4513 miles. just getting it goin again. charged the battery, nothin just a click from solenoid. ive traced the electrical all through to the starter. power all around. the book says simply remove power lead and a couple bolts. starter seems to be hung? my 660 raptor seemed easier to work on. any help. do ineed to remove right side cover?
